Round 2 east U21 hurling championship.
Cappamore away to Ballybricken/Bohermore/Fedamore.
This game was a physical hard fought contest. The east Limerick amalgamation started well as they went into a 3 points to 1 point lead. Cappamore settled into the game and levelled the game after 20 minute, 4 points a-piece. The amalgamation then struck with a goal against the run of play, but Cappamore didn’t panic and hurled on with scores from Jason Fitzgibbon, Liam Creamer, Donal O’Mahony and Ben Leonard saw Cappamore take a 1 point lead to the break, Cappamore 0-10 east Limerick amalgamation 1-06. The second half started with two outstanding points, Denis O ’ Donoghue out on the right wing and Jamie McCarthy from an acute angle on the left wing. David Holmes made a huge save mid way through the half, as the opposition no.14 broke inside and was one on one with David. The shot was a bullet, but David got the hurl to it and deflected it over the bar. Both sides exchanged points for the last quarter with a 4 point win for Cappamore at full time, 0-17 to 1-10. Scores from Liam Creamer 0-10 (8 from frees), Jason Fitzgibbon 0-2, Donal O’Mahony 0-2, Ben Leonard, Jamie McCarthy & Denis O’Donoghue 0-1 each. Round 3 next Saturday 2nd at home to Kilteely/Dromkeen 3pm.
